About the Role

We’re looking for an STMS to join our Ruamahanga Roads maintenance team in Wairarapa. You’ll coordinate and deliver temporary traffic management and support safe day-to-day operations across our network, helping us deliver safer roads and protect everyone who works on or travels through our sites.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

This is a hands-on, field-based role working across our Ruamahanga Roads maintenance network. You’ll be responsible for setting up, managing and monitoring temporary traffic management for a range of Fulton Hogan teams, external clients and local events.

Your work will help ensure our crews and the public stay safe, and that jobs are completed efficiently and to standard. You’ll be a key point of coordination on site, keeping things moving and making sure our traffic management plans are followed.
 

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

  • Lead the safe set-up, operation and removal of temporary traffic management on work sites

  • Coordinate with work site Forepersons and crews to ensure smooth, efficient operations

  • Implement traffic management plans, including signage, devices and layouts, to required standards

  • Identify, report and help eliminate hazards in line with our hazard identification processes

  • Complete required training and maintain competency in temporary traffic management

  • Use tablets/iPads/Tough Books and other IT devices to access plans, record information and support compliance

Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with

  • Level 1 STMS qualification

  • Full Class 2 driver licence (essential)

  • Experience directing and leading others in a civil construction or maintenance environment

  • Confidence using IT devices (e.g. iPad/Tough Book) on site

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team

  • A positive attitude, reliability and a commitment to safety
