POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs general, routine maintenance to maintain the HD6 facilities, equipment and grounds. Uses proper techniques and coordinates all repairs and service to ensure limited interruption of patient care and business operations.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs maintenance and repair as needed or directed by supervisor, including preventive maintenance, monitoring energy management systems, carpentry/facility repairs - inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, and seals.
- Completes daily, weekly, and monthly checklists and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Operates a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems.
- Makes every effort to minimize disruption to patient care services/business operations when performing maintenance/repairs.
- Is knowledgeable and complies with safety policies, procedure and requirements in planning, coordinating, and fulfilling maintenance work assignments; ensuring that personnel, equipment and areas are free of hazards.
- Meets safety standards and verifies that proper equipment and apparel are utilized attending periodic or safety meetings to ensure strict compliance with safety policies and procedures of the Maintenance Department.
- Serves in the after hours on-call rotation responding to emergencies within 30 minutes or sooner upon notification.
- Performs snow removal and lawn care.
- Treats all verbal, written, or electronic information about patients, co-workers or other medical center business confidentially.
- Treats patients, visitors, co-workers and others in a courteous, helpful and respectful manner.
- Avoids waste and inappropriate use of supplies, and performs duties with concern for the financial impact of the department and organization.
- Adheres to departmental, organizational and human resources policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
High School Diploma/GED
Serves in after hours on-call rotation with other maintenance personnel.
