The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for identifying needs, developing, and implementing treatment plans with functional and measurable outcomes for students receiving OT services according to IEP guidelines. This role also involves contributing to program-wide strategies, developing instructional materials, and conducting professional development for staff.

Schedule:
Ideally, the available options for the days of the week are 3 full days (MWF)-but would be open to Tues/Thurs/other day (flexible)
The Essential Job Functions
- Identify and use professionally sound procedures for referrals, identification, diagnosis, goal development, case termination, and follow-up for students receiving OT services.
- Establish daily schedules for assigned students according to service minutes established in the Individual Education Plan (IEP).
- Develop and implement treatment plans that focus on functional and measurable outcomes and adhere to professional standards of practice while adhering to all IEP guidelines.
- Conduct professional development for staff as needed.
- Develop instructional strategy materials to support the staff.
- Initiate new program development with focus on functional outcomes to improve the quality of life of the clients.
- Contribute to the development of program-wide strategies to support clients in their therapeutic goals across all environments.
- Develop and participate in presentations, workshops, and/or trainings for staff.
- Be an advocate for others!
The Details
- You should be able to work independently, take initiative, follow through and work cooperatively with others.
- This is a physical job. You should be able to kneel, climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds, and run.
- This is a social job. You should be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in English as well as lead a team by demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills and positive interactions with others.

Requirements
- Successful completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program
- Valid MO license to practice in schools
- Experience working with or within the public education system, multidisciplinary teams, day habilitation, or clinical setting
- A strong desire to work with a dynamic team and advance their knowledge and skills in providing occupational therapy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
Preferred:
- Experience with working with children and adolescents with autism and other developmental disabilities in a school setting
- Strong understanding of the IEP process
- Strong consultation skills such as building rapport and communication within a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledgeable in PBIS, ABA, and SCM
- Experience supporting alternative student communication systems
- Strong writing and scheduling skills, and efficient time management
