Description
Essential Purpose: To facilitate reservations for the restaurant and provide a gracious initial contact with arriving guests.
Essential Duties:
- To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- To be aware, at all times, of current house count, visiting VIP's, and hotel functions, in order to provide personalized service to guests.
- To provide prompt, efficient, and gracious customer service, in person or over the telephone, including making restaurant reservations, greeting and seating guests, taking IRD/ To Go orders, and responding to all requests for information regarding the restaurant and hotel.
- To be knowledgeable and able to communicate detailed menu information and resort events to guests.
- To make special daily/nightly insertions to menus, and return same to proper storage area at end of shift
- To manage the seating of guests in a manner that ensures smooth and timely service.
- To ensure that tables are set to accommodate reservations.
- To assign and inform servers of their stations.
- To follow all specified procedures to correctly handle all credit card, and gift card transactions.
- To follow all policies and procedures of the food and beverage department and Temecula Creek Inn
- To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.
- To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times.
- To practice safe work habits at all times, to avoid injury to self and others.
- To comply with company and departmental safety rules and regulations, including the proper handling of all relevant equipment.
- To attend all mandatory meetings, as directed.
- To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
Requirements
Knowledge + Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. English fluency required. Previous hotel restaurant experience preferred. Familiar with proper etiquette of seating and salutations. Must display knowledge of currently accepted business phone etiquette.
Skills: Detail oriented. Organized and efficient. Learns quickly. Safety- minded. High quality standards for production and service. Diplomatic and calm. Strong verbal communications skills. Courteous, friendly, and professional manner. Good team player. Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.
Physical Demands: Stands and walks distances throughout shift. Must be able to work well under pressure. Frequent lifting of up to 20 lbs. and occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. Heavy use of phones, daily.
