Job Description

OVERVIEW 

The Audience Intern will support the Audience team to create and distribute CNBC content across all platforms.  

This role is ideal for university undergraduates aspiring to explore a career in multimedia news journalism. You will have a keen interest in and passion for business, economics and financial markets, as well as social media and other digital platforms. There will also be the opportunity to learn about business and markets, as well as the fundamentals of journalism.  

  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:  

  • Pitch and produce social media posts related to CNBC content in a timely fashion, driving traffic to the site and raising awareness of the brand. 

  • Work closely with colleagues in both Singapore and Europe to amplify CNBC content on social media platforms. 

  • Support the planning, production and editing of shorts/social media videos. 

  • Collect and analyze audience and social media data and produce regular reports. 

  • Assist the Digital team to research, report, write and upload news stories for publication on CNBC.com when required. 

  • Collaborate with the wider Singapore newsroom, including with TV, Features and Digital on joint projects and news pitches, including aiding with research and fact-checking when required. 

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • University undergraduates majoring in business, economics, mass communication, media production, or similar.   
  • Must have the legal right to work in Singapore. Only candidates with existing eligibility to work in Singapore will be considered. 
  • Flexible approach to shift patterns with the ability to work early morning start times. 
  • Available for a full time, 6-month internship from June-January 
  • Keen interest in business news, economics, and financial markets. 
  • Basic video editing skills; knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro would be ideal. 
  • Knowledge of how to use graphics software; experience with Adobe Photoshop or similar would be ideal. 
  • Ability to prioritize a variety of tasks while operating under tight deadlines. 
  • Ability to work in a face-paced news environment. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills to engage and interact with stakeholders at varying levels. 
  • Willingness to learn and proactively take initiative.
