Position Summary

The Mitigation Technician is responsible for Emergency response for water mitigation, mold remediation, and fire/smoke mitigation. Also assessing affected areas, performing mitigation services, and documenting all work to industry and company standards. This is a hands-on role that requires physical labor, attention to detail, and consistent communication with clients and team members.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of damaged properties to identify scope of work and required mitigation steps.
  • Perform water extraction, structural drying, dehumidification, demolition, and moisture mapping.
  • Assist with mold remediation and fire/smoke damage cleanup.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including photos, moisture readings, job notes, and material tracking.
  • Set up, monitor, and maintain equipment such as air movers, dehumidifiers, and HEPA filtration units.
  • Collaborate with team members and project managers to ensure efficient job completion.
  • Follow all safety standards, PPE requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Communicate professionally with clients to explain processes and provide updates.
  • Participate in rotating on-call shifts, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior mitigation, construction, or restoration experience preferred but not required — training available.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, lift 50–75 lbs., and work in confined spaces.
  • Knowledge of industry safety procedures and basic hand/power tools.
  • IICRC certifications (WRT, FSRT, AMRT) are a plus or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
