Job Summary
The Shop Manager is primarily responsible for the daily operations of the Howard Remanufacturing Shop and ensuring its overall quality. This position will report to the Sr. Director of Remanufacturing / R&D.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee all the daily operations of the facility.
- Review budgets and financial reports to ensure that P&Ls are met.
- Oversee and support needs to Logistics, Procurement, Estimating and Inventory.
- Schedule and manage the workflow in the shop.
- Ensure quality and safety are a top priority.
- Create a lean and efficient workflow in the shop.
- Implement health and safety policies and procedures.
- Work with Recruiting and HR on hiring and employee issues / concerns.
- Initiate Monthly one-on-one with the employees.
- Work with QC to ensure all processes and procedures are followed. Help develop if needed.
- Prepare reports for senior management.
- Participate in the development of long-term goals for the shop.
- Work with QC on any warrant issues.
- Work closely with engineering to meet customer demands.
- Ensure all technicians are up to date with safety and technical training.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
- Hold daily / weekly meetings to ensure continuity among all business segments.
- This will be a hands-on position as we work on developing the team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
To perform the essential functions of this position successfully, an individual should be able to demonstrate and provide the following:
- Minimum of 5 years of wind energy or related experience preferred.
- Ability to build and maintain working relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills required.
- The ability to utilize knowledge and experience to make key decisions that are in the best interest of the customer and the company.
- Competent using Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong initiative and drive for high achievement and continuous improvement.
- Valid Driver’s License
Physical Requirements
This position is largely self-directed and requires understanding of company policy, procedures, and values. Team members will be required to adhere to all safety requirements in all work environments. This position operates in an office and field environment.
Specific physical requirements include:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk while working on a computer.
- Occasionally lifting weights of fifty (50) pounds or less.
- Potentially 30% travel required.
