Classification: Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime)

Hourly Pay Range: $22.00 – $23.00 


Job Summary

Join our team! The Hotel Security Agent is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for guests and team members by monitoring and patrolling the property and personnel. 


General Responsibilities 

  • Secure the property, personnel, and guests by patrolling the premises, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points, permitting entry to authorized individuals, and responding to safety or security concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policies and procedures, and restraining trespassers when necessary.
  • Maintain organizational stability and reputation by complying with all legal requirements and internal policies.
  • Support team efforts by completing related tasks and contributing to overall operational goals.

Requirements

Core Skills & Abilities 

  • Assess and respond to safety or emergency situations using sound judgment, company procedures, and established policies.
  • Remain calm, composed, and professional in stressful, high-pressure, or time-sensitive situations.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with guests and team members, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Utilize clear communication and de-escalation techniques to resolve situations whenever possible.
  • Observe surroundings and identify potential safety concerns, maintaining strong situational awareness and communicating clearly via two-way radio or other communication systems.
  • Follow policies and procedures while working independently, demonstrating reliability, accountability, and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written communication skills, with an emphasis on accurate and thorough incident reporting.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Security, Hospitality, Guest Relations, or Customer Service
  • Valid California Proprietary Security Officer (PSO) license, or obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Experience in hotels, resorts, or other high-volume guest environments

 Schedule 

  • Mandatory availability to work Friday and Saturday evening shifts (6:00 PM – 2:30 AM) in both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Additional shifts may be offered based on business needs.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift (typically 8 hours or longer)

  • Ability to view and work on a computer screen and operate a telephone or communication device for extended periods
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance

Experience

  • Security Guards: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Guest Relations: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)
