Introduction:

The Nutrition and Food Services Department (NFSD) provides a range of products and services to students, faculty, staff as well as patients and their attendants. It comprises of a team of experienced clinical nutritionists, dietitians, and foodservice professionals. The services are provided through six sections; clinical nutrition, patient meal services, cafeteria & catering services, food production, food safety management and cost control and approximately 13,000-15,000 meals are served in a day.

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for:
- ensuring food quality, texture and flavor of patients and non-patients meal is as per the standards.
- cooking food and preparing hot entrees, as per the cycle menu day with the standardized recipes or directed by the supervisor.
- using equipment safely and monitoring needs for equipment repairs.
- ensuring work stations and cooking equipment’s are clean as per “clean as you go” principle for self and others.
- cleaning and maintaining the hygiene and sanitation of kitchen areas as per the direction of supervisor.
Requirements:
You should have:
- Matriculate with certificate / training in cookery from a recognized institution with 6 -7 years related work experience preferred.
OR
- Non-Matriculate with 7-9 years related work experience.
- Knowledge of menus, recipes and predation terminology.
- Knowledge of quantity cooking techniques and methods.
- Knowledge of principles of food safety and sanitation.
- Ability to use kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Ability to read & write in Urdu and English.
- Knowledge of standard recipes and ability to follow written guidelines.
- Respectful attitude towards supervisor and colleagues.
- Ability to work in a team.
