Position Overview
The General Labor position supports a wide range of production and manufacturing activities, including fabrication, printing, sewing, assembly, and general shop support. This role requires flexibility to perform cross-functional duties, ensuring that products and projects are completed safely, accurately, and on time.
Essential Job Functions
- Read and follow work orders, drawings, specifications, and patterns.
- Operate and maintain production equipment and tools such as sewing machines, printers, power tools, and material-handling equipment.
- Assist with fabrication, sewing, assembly, and finishing of products using a variety of materials including metal, wood, vinyl, and fabric.
- Inspect materials and finished products for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
- Safely load, move, and position materials using forklifts, hand trucks, or hoists.
- Perform preventive maintenance on machines and report needed repairs.
- Accurately track work and maintain documentation in company systems.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety protocols.
- Support team members in multiple departments and assist with other tasks as assigned.
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, and climbing.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Specific vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Conditions
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment with possible exposure to dust, fumes, and noise.
- Overtime or irregular hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
- Occasional travel may be required to support off-site projects.
Requirements:
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or shop environment preferred.
- Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic math related to materials and dimensions.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude, adaptability, and willingness to learn new skills.
- Must pass pre-employment drug test.
