Description
Drives truck and trailer to haul logs in a safe and efficient manner to designated company locations.
Key Responsibilities
• Drives truck and trailer to haul logs from sites to mill.
• Assist with loading and unloading logs, operate picker.
• Abides by all Company, DOT, State and Federal transportation safety regulations.
• Ensures load is properly secured and weight is evenly distributed on truck and trailer. Checks binders and wrappers to ensure the load is secure.
• Inspects tractor trailer and equipment for defects and safe operating condition before (pre-trip) and after trips, as applicable, also when stopped during the workday. Submits a driver’s daily vehicle inspection report on the condition no later than the end of each day.
• Performs basic preventative maintenance to ensure fluid levels and tire pressures are maintained.
Requirements
• This position requires a Class "A" Driver’s License with no manual restrictions.
• Current DOT physical examination card, and clean DMV record.
• Insurable DMV record.
• Log hauling experience is preferred.
