With 35 years of experience, Summit Point Motorsports Park and Training Facility provides Commercial Motorsports events along with customized Security and Emergency Medical training solutions on our 786-acre facility located in Summit Point, WV. At Summit Solutions Group (SSG), we are the mission support arm of the Summit Point Training Facility. As a dedicated US Government contractor, we specialize in delivering comprehensive solutions that ensure operational excellence and mission success.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

Firefighters at Summit Point are responsible for protecting the training facility property, including high-speed racetracks, buildings, wooded areas, explosive ranges, and other structures. This role involves fire suppression, vehicle extrication/stabilization, and standby duties for the explosives range.


 This position is contingent upon contract award. Employment will commence only if the contract is awarded. 


The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conduct daily equipment checks on fire apparatus, ambulance, and fire truck to ensure readiness.
  • Operate emergency and non-emergency fire apparatus safely.
  • Coordinate patient care with the emergency services team, prioritizing safety and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Employ proper lifting and moving techniques.
  • Mentor and train new hire firefighters.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, coworkers, and via radio.
  • Maintain thorough and clear documentation of incidents and reports.
  • Safely operate firefighting equipment, including pumps, extinguishers, and extrication tools.
  • Collaborate with EMS teams for safe extrication and rescue efforts.
  • Coordinate emergency landing zones when required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Maintain all required firefighter certifications

Requirements

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

Required:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Certifications:
  • DOD, IFSAC, or ProBoard Firefighter I or Firefighter II
  • Vehicle Extrication Operations
  • HazMat Awareness and Operations
  • Valid and current Virginia EMT certification (or higher)
  • Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA or ARC)
  • Must maintain state-mandated continuing education, including AHA BLS certification.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Certified in emergency vehicle operations (EVOC)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must hold a valid and unrestricted U.S. driver’s license with a driving record consistent with company policy.
  • Must be available for some weekend work.
  • Must pass a background check.

Preferred:

  • NIMS training (100, 200, 700, 800)
  • Pediatric Education for Prehospital Providers (PEPP)
  • Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) 1 & 2

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in high-stress, high-acuity situations.
  • Frequent mobility in office and field environments.
  • Exposure to hazardous substances, extreme temperatures, loud noise, heights, and dynamic emergency conditions.
  • Physically demanding tasks such as running, lifting, carrying 150+ lbs, climbing, crawling, and operating emergency equipment.

Work Conditions:

Work is performed indoors and outdoors, including flexible shifts on weekdays and weekends.
