About the Role

Kunes Auto Group – Apple Valley, MKunes Auto Group, one of the fastest-growing automotive dealership groups in the Midwest, is seeking a detail-oriented Office Administrator / Accounting Assistant to support our dealership accounting office in Apple Valley, Minnesota.


This role works closely with the Office Manager and dealership leadership team to ensure accurate financial reporting, organized office operations, and smooth day-to-day administrative support across departments.

What You’ll Do


As an Office Administrator, you’ll play an important role in supporting dealership accounting and administrative operations.


Key responsibilities include:

• Assist the Office Manager with monthly financial statement preparation according to dealership and manufacturer guidelines

• Help process and review vehicle deals, commissions, inventory changes, and time records

• Prepare daily bank deposits and cash reports

• Maintain an effective cash management and forecasting system

• Assist with petty cash tracking and reconciliation

• Support daily DOC (Daily Operating Control) reporting and trend tracking for leadership

• Reconcile selected general ledger accounts on a monthly basis

• Help maintain accurate manufacturer accounts including warranty, rebates, incentives, and co-op advertising

• Assist with month-end closing processes and accounting reports

• Support preparation for annual audits and reviews

• Ensure compliance with government regulations and financial procedures

• Assist with tax reporting, tax deposits, and documentation

• Monitor factory incentives and properly code vehicle deliveries in dealership systems

• Prepare sales commission and chargeback reports

• Manage vehicle floorplan payoffs and coordinate with banking partners

• Support account approvals and collections on past-due accounts

• Compile reports and data for dealership leadership and management

• Assist with cross-training team members to ensure operational coverage

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working with financial data in a structured environment.


Qualifications:


• 2–4 years of experience in office administration, accounting, or dealership office operations preferred

• Automotive dealership experience is a plus but not required

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Comfortable working with financial reports, spreadsheets, and accounting systems

• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

• Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple departments
