Job Title: Career Counselor for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Career Counselor to support individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving meaningful employment. In this vital role, you will work closely with clients to identify their strengths, provide job readiness training, facilitate smooth transitions from the job training center to the workplace, and offer ongoing on-the-job support. Key Responsibilities:
- Assess clients’ job-related skills, strengths, and areas for development
- Develop personalized employment plans and provide job readiness training
- Assist clients in transitioning from training programs to competitive employment settings
- Offer on-the-job coaching and support to ensure successful job retention
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and update client case files regularly
- Collaborate with employers, training centers, and support teams to facilitate client employment success
- Perform administrative duties related to client records and service documentation
Skills and Qualifications:
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Valid Driver’s License in good standing with at least 5 years of driving experience
- Reliable vehicle in good working condition
- Active cell phone with internet capability
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to client support
