About the Role: Oversee all payroll operations for Muir Wood, a residential treatment provider for teens. You'll manage semi-monthly payroll processing, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and partner closely with HR and Finance teams. This role owns the full payroll lifecycle—from onboarding and timekeeping to year-end filings and 401(k) administration.

What You'll Do:
- Manage daily payroll functions: processing, bonuses, shift differentials, terminations, and special pay
- Process semi-monthly payroll and post journal entries to General Ledger
- Administer garnishments, tax withholdings, and employment verifications
- Lead year-end processes including W-2s, ACA reporting, and annual audit support
- Manage 401(k) contributions, deductions, reconciliation, and compliance reporting
- Oversee workers' compensation reporting and annual audit
- Train supervisors on Paylocity for timecard approvals and PTO management
- Monitor regulatory updates and implement compliant policies and processes
- Generate labor cost reporting to support management decision-making
- Partner with HR on benefits integration, HRIS systems, and file feeds
Requirements
What We're Looking For:
Must Have:
- 3+ years of payroll experience
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (Paylocity preferred)
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality
Preferred:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Basic knowledge of GAAP
- Experience in healthcare or multi-entity payroll environments
- Background in payroll system implementation or optimization
