Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to lead and support our Legal and Compliance functions, particularly within the crypto and cross-asset trading space. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in financial contracts and regulatory frameworks, with the ability to draft, negotiate, and manage legal documentation such as Service Agreements, ISDAs, SAFTs, and other commercial and transactional contracts.
You should be a problem-solver at heart, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment. A strong interest in legal automation and process efficiency is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal agreements including: ISDAs (International Swaps and Derivatives Association Agreements) SAFTs (Simple Agreements for Future Tokens) Service agreements, NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreements), partnership contracts, and other standard commercial agreements.
- Advise internal stakeholders on legal risks and implications of business decisions.
- Monitor and interpret relevant laws and regulatory developments across jurisdictions (with a focus on crypto and digital assets).
- Lead or support regulatory filings and compliance efforts where needed.
- Work with external counsel as required on complex or jurisdiction-specific matters.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline legal workflows.
- Build scalable legal processes to support a growing business.
- Contribute to the development of internal policies and processes that align with regulatory and legal best practices.
- Lawyer qualified to practice in UK and/or Swiss jurisdictions.
- Some post-qualification experience, preferably in fintech, trading, or crypto related industries.
- Proven experience in corporate law, drafting service agreements, and advising on derivatives and cryptocurrency matters.
- Strong understanding of compliance requirements and regulatory frameworks in multiple jurisdictions.
- Hands-on approach to solving legal issues within a business context; prior in-house legal experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively to non-legal stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Highly ethical and trustworthy, operating with utmost integrity and confidentiality.
- Demonstrates strong business acumen and commercial awareness.
- Adaptive to the evolving needs of the business and of the financial services sector.
Location and Right to work: We are hiring for our London or Zurich offices with the expectation of the candidate being on-site.
