The Summer Internship Programme is a is a chance to explore your interests, develop new skills, and gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced professionals on real projects.

As part of the GPS Risk, Control & Performance Analytics team in Singapore, the individual will embark on a dynamic 8-12 week programme combining day-to-day business activities and challenging projects. The individual will benefit from getting exposure to the opportunities and challenges of the wealth management industry.

The Summer Internship - GPS Data Analyst reports to Data Analyst in GPS Risk, Control & Performance Analytics.

YOUR CHALLENGE

People management

  • Contribute to the strengthening of the team spirit and the fostering of a collaborative work environment

Client management (internal & external)

  • Analyse and translate business needs into long-term solution data models
  • Evaluate existing data systems
  • Work with the relevant stakeholders to create conceptual data models and data flows
  • Develop best practices for data coding to ensure consistency within the system
  • Review modifications of existing systems for cross-compatibility
  • Troubleshoot and optimise data systems
  • Conduct investigations using new technologies, where relevant
  • Support the team in process improvement initiatives, BAU as well as adhoc tasks

Business management

  • Identify opportunities to enhance functional efficiency and productivity, proposing process improvements and workflow optimisations, where relevant/appropriate

Regulatory responsibilities &/or risk management

  • Meet all legal, regulatory, and compliance standards/requirements
  • Adhere to the standards and expectations outlined in the relevant user manuals and guidelines
  • Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviours including, but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Professional & technical

  • Students currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme from the second year of study onwards, or pursuing a Master’s degree
  • Proficient in Python and SQL, with experience in data analysis and process re-engineering
  • Good command of financial analytical skills
