Description
We are searching for an experienced Ultrasound Technician for a full time, 1 year contract opportunity with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Syracuse, NY. This is a W-2 contract position supporting the VA Medical Center and any state license is accepted (no NY license requirement). Position Highlights

- Manageable Caseload - 8-15 ultrasounds/day

Position: Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist
- Location: Syracuse, NY - VA Medical Center
- Base Pay: $45/hour
- Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm, occasional overtime and after hours on-call/callback coverage
- Contract: 1 Year Minimum with Opportunities for Extensions

Coverage Details

- Two-week familiarization training with protocols, SOP, and equipment
Procedures/Exams Include:
- Abdominal (GB , Liver, Renal, Pancreas, Spleen, Bladder and any pelvic pathology)
- Renal Sonography
- Renal Artery Doppler – r/o renal artery stenosis*
- Bladder
- Abdomen Doppler
- Aorta
- Lower Extremity Venous Doppler – r/o DVT
- Carotid Doppler
- Lower Extremity Arterial Limb Studies
- Pelvic
- Chest Sonogram
- Superficial masses
- Scrotal Sono – r/o mass, torsion, abscess, infection
- Lower extremity vein map
- Upper extremity vein map
Requirements
- Current, Full, Unrestricted Radiologic Technology License - Any State
- Clean Malpractice History & Criminal Record
- RDMS Certificate (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in abdomen, OB/GYN, and Breast
- 3+ years of experience as a Sonographer
- Experience performing ultrasound & vascular studies
- Experience with Phillips EPIQ 7 or EPIQ 5 preferred
- Knowledge of digital imaging and PACS
