Position Summary
While working as a Print Bindery Specialist, you will be tasked with finishing and fulfilling orders and performing tasks related to preparing customer orders for packaging.
The person in this position will use bindery equipment to perform tasks such as cutting, folding, stitching, laminating, binding, stapling, coiling, perforating, hole punching, etc. Additionally, the person in this position assists with performing the operational functions of the department, meeting both quality and quantity requirements.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Fulfill Work Orders utilizing proper bindery equipment. Tasks could include drilling, stitching, shrink wrapping, stapling, taping, cutting, collating, inserting, gluing, and padding as needed
- Set up and operate bindery equipment including folder, cutter, coil inserter, hole puncher, booklet maker, and laminator
- Bind products using hand tools such as knives, crimpers, etc.
- Ensure the accuracy of work being performed by producing the highest quality product for the client
- Troubleshoot jams or issues on bindery equipment
- Communicate with other departments when jobs are ready for binding
- Communicate the proper arrival times with the packaging & shipping departments to allow adequate time to be packaged and delivered
- Coordinate with managers to meet deadlines
- Enter information into the computer in order to keep track of jobs and assignments
- Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education/Experience
- A High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
- 2+ years of print bindery experience
Computer Skills
- Performing this job successfully requires that an individual have a solid understanding of computers, data entry, internet searches, the Microsoft Office suite and email applications.
Other Qualifications
- Ability to pass a background check
- Vision abilities required by this job include being able to see clearly at 20 inches or less, distinguish colors, and adjust focus
- Mathematical abilities required by this job include reading a ruler, calculating simple costs, and other basic mathematical skills
