The purpose of this position is to greet customers at the door, escort customers to the dining and bar areas, answer incoming calls and fill to-go orders as needed. Hosts are responsible for ensuring guests have a positive dining experience from arrival until departure. 


General Responsibilities

  • Greet incoming and departing guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact.
  • Escort guests to the assigned dining area, present menus, and announce the waiter’s name. 
  • Answer incoming calls to the restaurant and provide appropriate service.
  • Tend to special guest needs and requests.
  • Maintain a neat, organized, and clean host area.
  • Receive payments by validating credit charges; approving checks; accepting currency; and calculating and issuing change for to-go orders.
  • Assist with opening/closing tasks and side work as needed.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently. 


Requirements

Job Qualifications

Education: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: 

  • Previous expediting experience preferred
  • Excellent oral communication skills are required.
  • Positive interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to speak and hear.
  • Close and distance vision.
  • Frequent sitting with some standing at times.
  • Occasionally lifts/carries up to 50 lbs.
  • Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual and fine motor skills.
  • Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly.
