About the Role

Description

The Host plays an essential role in shaping the guest’s first and last impression of Won’t Stop Hospitality. Energetic, friendly, professional, and confident, the Host provides a warm and organized welcome to every guest. This position is responsible for managing the flow of the restaurant through strategic seating, efficient communication, and calm composure during high-volume periods. The Host upholds Won’t Stop Hospitality’s radically different and radically better guest experience by embodying the company’s core values and maintaining a professional, polished demeanor.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promptly make eye contact, smile, and greet each guest as they enter the restaurant.
  • Warmly welcome guests and determine the most efficient way to accommodate their dining experience.
  • Maintain flow and rotation of seating to ensure smooth service and balanced sections.
  • Practice keen organizational acumen and communicate seating needs effectively to service and management teams.
  • Answer phone calls, manage reservations, and respond to guest inquiries with professionalism and accuracy.
  • Maintain an accurate waitlist, quoting realistic wait times and providing updates as needed.
  • Assist service staff with bussing, cleaning, and resetting tables to maximize seating efficiency.
  • Observe guest body language and dining patterns to proactively communicate needs to service staff.
  • Complete each dining experience with a warm farewell and sincere invitation for a return visit.
  • Maintain composure and a welcoming demeanor during peak service hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but is expected to work collaboratively under the direction of the General Manager and Assistant Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Previous restaurant or kitchen experience preferred. Must demonstrate basic understanding of food handling, sanitation, and prep procedures.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write and speak fluently, in the primary language of the property location.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense, define problems, collect data and notify management when necessary. Ability to successfully re-prioritize tasks in a moment’s notice.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
