Full-Time | Start Date: August 1 | On campus 40 hours per week | Schedule includes select after-school athletic coverage and occasional evening games.


At Hausner, Associate Teachers are instructional partners in learning and culture-builders in our community. As our Associate PE Teacher for TK–1st grade, you will design joyful, developmentally grounded physical education experiences that help our youngest students grow in confidence, coordination, teamwork, and resilience.

Core Responsibilities | Physical Education Instruction (Primary Role 60%)

Curriculum & Lesson Design

  • Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate PE lessons for TK–1st grade
  • Foster fundamental motor skills, coordination, balance, spatial awareness, and overall fitness
  • Design activities that emphasize teamwork, sportsmanship, perseverance, and joy
  • Align early childhood PE with the broader TK–8 physical education vision

Student Engagement & Differentiation

  • Create a safe and structured environment where all students can participate meaningfully
  • Differentiate instruction to meet a wide range of developmental levels
  • Support students in building self-regulation, body awareness, and collaborative skills

Assessment & Communication

  • Monitor student growth and development
  • Communicate proactively with teachers and families as appropriate
  • Collaborate with General Studies teachers to support the whole child

Core Responsibilities | Athletics Support (Secondary Role 40%)

Athletic Program Support

  • Assist with athletic events (e.g., dismissal, carpools, logistics, scoreboard, supervision)
  • Co-coach after-school teams, based on interest and experience
  • Collaborate with the Athletic Director to ensure smooth program operations
  • Serve as a positive, professional presence for students and families

Professional Responsibilities

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and families
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and professional development/certifications
  • Substitute for colleagues as needed

Requirements

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Prior teaching and/or coaching experience with early elementary-aged students
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Comfort with basic office technology (Google Suite, scheduling systems, email)

Compensation

$60 - 65k annually, commensurate with experience.
