About the Role

Description

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Overseeing a pool of 100-150 major gift prospects.   Expectations include the qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of assigned prospects.
  • Traveling regularly for individual visits and Brewster events with a focus on identifying and cultivating new and existing donor prospects.  
  • Staffing campus events and regularly attending Academy gatherings and functions.
  • Applying Moves Management techniques to successfully deliver high-value interactions with constituents, including face-to-face or online meetings, phone calls, and other cultivation and stewardship touches. 
  • Building and advancing strong relationships with alumni, parents, and friends of Brewster that result in philanthropic contributions.
  • Working independently and creatively to match donor interests with Academy priorities, develop proposals, and negotiate complex gifts
  • Preparing stewardship plans, letters, pledge agreements, and other correspondence as required.
  • Soliciting annual fund gifts for each assigned prospect, either through a personal visit, solicitation by a volunteer, or through Brewster Annual Giving programs and appeals (e.g., Fall Family Challenge, Day of Giving/Bobcat Challenge, etc.)
  • Soliciting gifts for capital and endowment priorities, planned giving commitments
  • Recruiting and supporting volunteers for Brewster’s Parent Committee.
  • Ensuring the timely capture and recording of prospect data in Brewster’s CRM system.
  • Maintaining in-depth knowledge of Brewster’s campaign priorities, academic and extracurricular programs, and key faculty and administrators.
  • Collaborating with colleagues on fundraising projects, communications, and events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2-3 years of fundraising experience preferred, with demonstrated results closing gifts 
  • Willingness to work independently, cooperatively, and accept direction from supervisors.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and properly steward donors.
  • Must be willing/able to maintain a significant travel schedule, as well as occasional evening and weekend work
  • Proficiency using Google Suite tools.  Experience with Fundraising CRM tools is essential, and knowledge of Veracross Development 3.0 is a plus
  • Excellent writing and verbal skills 
  • Ability to motivate and collaborate with staff and volunteers
  • Ability to handle confidential materials with discretion
