Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Art Director, the Senior Graphic Design Manager plays a key role in shaping and advancing AIA’s visual identity across platforms. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality creative execution while contributing to concept development, visual storytelling, and art direction on select projects.
The Senior Manager collaborates closely with the Sr. Art Director and cross-functional stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into compelling, brand-elevating creative solutions that elevate the AIA brand.
Responsibilities
• Lead concept development for campaigns, initiatives, and key deliverables across print, digital, and environmental design.
• Translate communications goals into strong visual narratives and scalable design systems.
• Provide art direction on select projects, defining the visual approach and ensuring a consistent, high-quality aesthetic.
• Collaborate with the Sr. Art Director to develop, evolve, and uphold AIA’s brand standards.
• Design and produce creative assets for web, presentations, reports, marketing collateral, signage, social media, and digital advertising.
• Concept and develop environmental graphics for tradeshows and events, creating immersive and impactful experiences.
• Design reports that include infographics, making complex information visually accessible and compelling.
• Create high-quality presentations for leadership and external audiences.
• Partner with Marketing & Communications project leads to ideate and refine creative approaches.
• Strong ability to articulate design decisions and recommendations to non-designers and leadership.
• Coordinate with external vendors and oversee print production to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing timelines and budgets while maintaining organized design files and version control.

Qualifications
- Strong portfolio showcasing creative and diverse design projects.
- Advanced proficiency in graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc.).
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Collaborative, team-oriented spirit.
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, with expertise in PowerPoint.
- Experience working in project management system, knowledge of SmartSheet is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design preferred with minimum five years or more of relevant experience preferably with a creative or marketing agency.

This position is approved to work 100% Remote from the following AIA Approved States outside of the DC metro area: AR, CT, DE, FL, GA, ID, IL, IA, KS, KY, MA, ME, MI, MN, MT, NH, NM, NY, NC, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WY

This position will periodically be required to be on-site at the AIA Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
