Work Schedule:
- Four 10-hour shifts per week, primarily Monday through Friday!
- Start times between 6:30 a.m. and 9 a.m.
- Rotating weekend shifts.
- No overnights, holidays, on-call, or travel!
The MRI/CT Tech Assistant will support our MRI Technologists and other departmental staff with daily activities, and will assist with the set up and execution of various MRI examinations! Join us today and advance your career in providing exceptional patient care at UPMC Magee!
Responsibilities:
- Greets patients and assists with paperwork.
- Answers phone calls regarding scheduling, questions, and patient history.
- Properly prepares the patient and MRI coil for accurate imaging, ensuring safe scanning and entrance into the MRI scan room, and conducts MRI screening.
- Assists with lifting and transferring patients to and from exam tables, as needed.
- Establishes IV access (e.g. for contrast administration) and assists technologist in the preparation of oral contrast for patients, according to established procedures.
- Performs telemetry monitoring during exam, as necessary, and transports patients to and from the unit when required.
- Provides discharge and general instructions to patients.
- Cleans and prepares exam rooms following established procedures.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of previous healthcare industry experience.
- Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
- Medical and/or imaging office experience preferred.
- IV insertion experience preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
