Role Summary
Kings River Packing is seeking a Grower Accounting Manager to oversee all financial transactions between the company and its growers, including advances, settlements, and import program activity. In this role, you will manage the grower accounting function, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely reporting of financial data to internal stakeholders, growers, and partners.
This position plays a key role in supporting strategic initiatives, maintaining strong financial controls, and providing leadership and oversight to the grower accounting team to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations.
What You'll Do
- Oversee the grower accounting function, including financial reporting, analysis, and operational processes related to grower advances, settlements, and import programs.
- Generate, maintain, and distribute weekly and monthly grower accounting reports for management and import partners, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Present financial updates and insights related to grower accounting to directors and senior leadership.
- Analyze settlement trends, grower accounting data, and financial results to identify issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Exercise independent judgment in resolving accounting discrepancies, settlement variances, and operational issues affecting grower accounts.
- Develop and implement improvements to grower accounting procedures, reporting processes, and internal controls.
- Provide oversight of grower accounting operations, including review and approval of reconciliations, settlement processes, and adjustments.
- Manage the processing of grower advances and settlements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Reconcile sales and inventory records and ensure proper lot closure and payment processing.
- Review and ensure accurate charge coding and expense allocation by lot.
- Maintain grower loans and advances and oversee grower settlement reconciliation to the general ledger.
- Support the import program by reviewing financial activity and coordinating customs documentation.
- Collaborate with the Accounts Receivable team to review aging reports, resolve discrepancies, and address inventory or payment issues.
- Troubleshoot, research, and verify accounting activities while maintaining accurate documentation and records.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- 4+ years’ experience in accounting, finance with related experience in agriculture industry
- Famous experience required
- Advanced in Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Proven ability leading teams and cultivating talent
- Strong organizational skills and communication skills

- Ability to work occasional overtime
Physical Demands & Abilities
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, working from a computer, talking on the phone.
