The Museum provides hands-on interactive educational experiences to approximately 445,000 children and their families each year. About the Role

Description

Miami Children’s Museum is looking for a reliable and professional Part-Time Security Guard to help ensure a safe and welcoming environment for our visitors, staff, and children at Liberty City Elementary School. This role plays a critical part in maintaining security across the school by monitoring the premises, preventing incidents, and responding quickly to safety concerns.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, staff, and school property
  • Patrol the building and surrounding premises regularly
  • Monitor security cameras, alarms, and access points
  • Observe and report suspicious activity or disturbances
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and incidents
  • Control access to building entrances and gates
  • Maintain detailed reports of unusual events
  • Provide first aid or emergency assistance when necessary
  • Support overall school safety and security operations

Requirements

  • Florida Class D Security License (required)
  • Previous experience as a security guard or in a related role
  • Knowledge of public safety procedures and security protocols
  • Strong observation skills and attention to detail
  • Professional demeanor and high integrity
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass a Level II background screening (fingerprints) and drug test
  • CPR / First Aid / AED certification preferred
