SteriPack (USA) Limited (d/b/a Ensera) seeks a Sr Automation Engineer for its Lakeland, FL location. 

Duties: Apply knowledge of biomedical and systems engineering principles to develop and implement automation solutions and improve technologies and devices for manufacturing efficiencies. Work with cross-functional teams, including global engineering, production, sales, and suppliers, to influence design for manufacturability and process reliability. Manage automation projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget while meeting technical and regulatory requirements. Establish equipment specifications and support the design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and validation of manufacturing processes to enhance production capabilities. Develop user requirements and factory acceptance testing strategies for new fillings and packaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards. Analyze process flow to identify inefficiencies and implement automation improvements that increase capacity and streamline production. Design and integrate automation systems using programmable logic controllers, sensors, robotics, and machine vision to enhance manufacturing operations. Ensure that all automation solutions comply with regulatory requirements, maintaining adherence to industry guidelines and safety standards. Prepare technical documentation, including validation protocols, user requirements, and compliance reports, to support regulatory and quality assurance processes. Assist in integrating automation systems with manufacturing execution systems and enterprise resource planning tools to improve data management and operational efficiency. Ensure cutting-edge digital manufacturing technologies and automation solutions are scalable, flexible, and aligned with future industry advancements. Provide training and technical guidance to engineering teams and production staff to ensure proper operation and maintenance of automation systems.  


Requirements: Must have a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Biomedical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Automation Engineering or closely related field and two (2) years of experience as a Systems Design Engineer, or closely related position, developing and implementing automation systems for Biotechnology and medical device manufacturing. Full term experience must include: Developing and implementing automation systems and solutions through defining User Requirement Specifications, preparing costs, drafting documents; Procurement Management, including Requests for Proposals for custom automation equipment, secure vendor quotes, evaluate proposals, and manage vendor relationships to ensure successful project execution; Developing strategies to identify and mitigate technical risks and ensure timely completion of automation projects; Conducting cost-benefit analyses to compare automation and manual processes; Utilizing visual tools, such as flow diagrams and floorplans, to optimize resource allocation and improve production efficiency; Developing compliance documentation and automation validation protocols, including Factory Acceptance Tests Plans, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility studies, to ensure compliance with industry standards; Conducting data analysis, cycle time estimates, proof-of-principle experiments, and root cause analysis to resolve technical challenges and improve the reliability of automated systems; Collaborating with customers, engineering teams, and vendors to define automation requirements and ensure alignment across project stakeholders; and Assisting in technical quotations and feasibility assessments to align proposed automation solutions with budgetary and operational requirements.
