Welcome to Love's: The Tax Accountant position is an experienced level position responsible for leading complex aspects of tax compliance and research functions for the Love families and affiliated companies. This includes independently preparing complex federal and state income tax returns for flow through entities, trusts and individuals, quarterly estimated payments, and responding to tax notices without supervision.

Job Functions:

• Independently prepare complex income tax returns for partnerships, S Corporations, Trusts and individuals
• Compile and analyze financial data to identify book tax differences to support tax filings
• Respond to IRS and state income tax notices and support income tax audits
• Review fixed assets for tax purposes (assure proper tax life and method selected, maximize annual depreciation or deduction)
• Identify tax savings opportunities throughout the tax return process, including state income tax and credit research
• Lead process improvement initiatives and efficiencies across the tax function
• Lead special projects and other tasks as assigned 

Education and Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or equivalent professional degree)
• CPA licensed in Oklahoma or CPA candidate in Oklahoma
• 3+ years public or corporate tax experience

       Skills and Physical Demands: 

• Hard Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, strong understanding of US Income Tax law and GAAP requirements, and possess the ability to learn new software applications, particularly tax preparation software
• Soft Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, keen attention to detail, team player, ability to work independently and deal with confidential information, ability to work long hours as needed especially during spring and fall tax preparation
• Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
• Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
• Requires normal range of hearing and vision
• Possible evening/weekend work
