GenLayer Labs is a decentralized AI research collective building the trust infrastructure for the AI Age. We are the developers of GenLayer—an open, AI-driven Court of the Internet—a synthetic jurisdiction where autonomous agents and protocols can reason, transact, and govern at machine speed with sovereignty, transparency, and trust. Our infrastructure enables autonomous agents and smart contracts to access live web data, interpret natural language, and resolve disputes using AI consensus.

We are hiring an AI-First Developer / Builder to work on prototypes, tools, and internal systems that push the boundaries of what intelligent contracts and AI-enabled infrastructure can do.

You will collaborate closely with a small technical team and work in a highly AI-assisted development environment, using tools like Claude Code, OpenClaw and other agent-based workflows to accelerate exploration and development.

This role is ideal for someone who:

• wants to work on cutting-edge AI + blockchain infrastructure.

• Build AI-driven tools, prototypes, and internal systems.
• Develop Python backends and APIs for AI-powered features.
• Work with LLMs, agents, and RAG pipelines.
• Prototype AI-assisted developer workflows.
• Experiment with new AI capabilities for intelligent contracts.
• Design small full-stack applications (backend + simple frontend).
• Use AI copilots and agents extensively in development.
• Collaborate closely with a small team to rapidly test and iterate on ideas.

We care much more about how you build than how many years of experience you have.

Strong candidates typically have:

• Strong Python development.
• Experience building APIs or backend systems.
• Comfortable with modern full-stack development (React, Node, etc. is a plus).
• Experience with LLMs, AI APIs, or AI tooling.
• Familiarity with LangChain, vector databases, RAG, or agents is a plus.

• Builder mentality -- you like shipping things.
• Comfortable working with AI-assisted coding tools.
• Curious and experimental.
• Able to work autonomously in a fast-moving environment.
• Comfortable working with uncertain or evolving specifications.

• Experience with crypto, blockchain, or smart contracts
• Experience with Docker, cloud infrastructure, or CI/CD
• Familiarity with data pipelines or document processing

Hybrid role based in Barcelona.
We work mostly remotely but value regular in-person collaboration.
