About the Role
Seeking a compassionate and highly responsible live-in caregiver for a lovely elderly couple in their home in Murrells Inlet, SC. Stay on site 24/7.

Female, age 88 – dementia and limited mobility
Male, age 94 – blind and hard of hearing but largely self-sufficient

The husband mostly needs assistance with meals and occasionally locating items. Care is primarily focused on the wife.

This is a live-in position with private room and bathroom and board provided in a beautiful home.

Typical Responsibilities

  • Prepare 3 meals daily (must be a good cook)
  • Assist with care for elderly individual with limited mobility
  • Help manage oxygen/nebulizer treatments
  • Light household organization and maintaining a structured environment
  • General companionship and attentive support
Work Expectations

  • Typical day requires about 7–8 hours of active work, with significant downtime when the couple is resting or sleeping.
  • Scheduled time off each week will be provided with reasonable advance notice.
Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with the elderly or dementia patients (nursing or caregiving background preferred)
  • Extremely organized, patient, attentive, honest, and friendly
  • Comfortable conversing and providing companionship
  • Intelligent and able to handle day-to-day caregiving decisions
Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Clean driving record
  • Non-smoker
  • No pets
  • No young children or spouse living in the home (children must be grown and independent)
  • Comfortable using computer, smartphone, or Kindle
  • Flexible schedule
  • 3 outstanding references required
  • Criminal background check required
Compensation: Pay will be commensurate with experience and in line with private-pay caregiver rates for our area.
