About the Role

Your Purpose

Inventory Officer is responsible for the end-to-end onboard inventory, including annual KPI and internal audit operations. This role leads the Inventory Team and collaborates closely with onboard business leadership and shoreside stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, service continuity, and financial accountability across all consumables and supply categories.

Your Impact

• Oversee all shipboard inventory operations across F&B, Hotel, Uniforms categories.

• Organize and execute weekly and monthly spot checks across key stock categories

• Auditing, through inventory spot checks, on POC Hotel, Uniforms, SPA, Retail, Entertainment and Beverage

• Guarantee full traceability and accountability of stock movements, including receipts, transfers, and consumption.

• Ensure all inventory transactions are accurately processed in CrunchTime, enabling reliable data for planning, ordering, and reporting.

• Certify handover inventories between HOD and Inventory Team personnel to ensure business continuity and stock accuracy.

• Review with the onboard business owners all onboard-generated Master Orders for Food & Beverage, Hotel, and Uniforms, ensuring consistency with consumption trends, par levels, guest forecasts, and the brand’s sourcing strategy.

• Submit finalized Master Orders to shoreside business owners within deadlines, supported by comprehensive data to facilitate efficient procurement.

• Ensure proactive monitoring of stock-on-hand and real-time consumption to prevent shortages or overstock, communicating risks to the various business owners

• Follow up on discrepancies recorded during the deliveries, ensuring resolution via credit notes or replacement goods in collaboration with the Procurement and Supply Chain teams.

• Monitor the physical condition of storerooms and equipment (e.g., chillers, sprinklers, alarms), initiating corrective actions where required.

• Ensure the proper and compliant storage of all items, reinforcing a safety-first culture across the department.

• Maintain accurate and timely inventory and financial reports monitoring assigned KPI

• Provide actionable reporting and forecasts on cost, consumption, and par level performance to support strategic decision-making.

• Lead, develop, and manage the Inventory Team onboard, fostering a culture of performance and accountability.

• Define and execute the loading and receiving strategy during port operations, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly delegated and carried out efficiently. 

Your Journey So Far

• A minimum of four years of experience in the same or a similar role within diverse cruise line and/or hospitality environments. 

• High School diploma.

• Food Safety/HACCP certificate required.

• Advanced knowledge on food safety

• Basic knowledge ISO 22000

• A background of safe food handling and storage in a similar position in a sanitation-regulated environment. 

• Sound knowledge of computer-based inventory systems. Knowledge of Microsoft programs includes but is not limited to, Outlook, Word, Excel.

• Fluent in written and spoken English. Any additional European language is considered an advantage.

 

Your Essentials

• Passport, visas, certificates as specified by the company and as required for exit from the port of origin and entry into the destination cruising area.

• Food Safety/HACCP certificate required.
