Job Summary:
UPMC Presbyterian is a large teaching hospital located in Oakland, a neighborhood in Pittsburgh. We care for a variety of adult patients, including Transplant, Trauma, Cardiac, and Neurology- just to name a few! As a part of inpatient team of skilled Dietitians and Diet Technicians, you will provide quality nutrition care to hospitalized patients. We love our team of innovative and compassion clinicians and know you will too!
Working Hours: 40 hours within a 2-week pay period with flexible scheduling and start time, rotating weekends and holidays
Responsibilities:
- Performs nutrition screening of patients and accurately assesses nutrition risk levels per established criteria.
- Provide direct patient care using Medical Nutrition Therapy to assess patients and develop goals and a plan of care.
- Provide appropriate nutrition education.
- Assists with the education, mentoring, and training of dietetic students/intern and new associates.
- Accountable as nutrition liaison/expert to assigned units & participate as a member of interdisciplinary committees and projects.
- Participate in department Quality Process Improvement activities.
Qualifications:
- BS in Nutrition/Dietetics - Dietetics Tract
OR
- Associates Degree, completion of DTR exam required within 3 months of hire.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- For associate degree, DTR required. Completion of 5-10 CEU annually/50 CEU every 5 years.
