About the Role

Choose your stream 

Youll join one of three streams and be embedded in agile product teams, working on real problems that matter to millions of consumers and customers. 

1. Software Engineering 

Design, build and ship high‑quality software that powers REAs consumer and customer experiences. Youll: 

  • Work with modern full‑stack technologies and practices such as Typescript and functional programming. 

  • Build and improve web and mobile applications, as well as products in platform and core services teams. 

  • Gain experience with AWS and cloud‑native development, including patterns like event‑driven architecture and micro frontends. 

  • Pair with senior engineers, participate in code reviews and contribute to production systems from early in the program. 

2. Data Engineering / Data Science / Analytics 

Turn data into decisions and experiences across REA. Youll: 

  • Work with data engineers, data scientists and analysts on pipelines, models and insights that power products and strategy. 

  • Help design and maintain data platforms that support analytics, reporting and machine learning at scale. 

  • Use modern tools and languages to explore, model and visualise data, translating complex information into clear stories for the business. 

  • Collaborate closely with product, marketing and commercial teams to test hypotheses and measure impact. 

3. Cyber Security 

Protect our customers, our products and our people. Youll: 

  • Work alongside cyber security specialists to identify, assess and manage security risks across REAs platforms and applications. 

  • Support activities such as threat modelling, security monitoring, incident response and secure‑by‑design reviews. 

  • Partner with engineering teams to embed secure development practices into everyday work. 

  • Help us stay ahead of emerging threats in a way thats practical, people‑centric and supportive of innovation. 

 

Across all streams, youll see a mix of technical work, problem‑solving, collaboration and continuous learning  with support to stretch into new areas as your confidence grows. 

 

Who we’re looking for 

We welcome graduates from diverse backgrounds and experiences – including people who are career‑changing into tech or who haven’t followed a traditional path. If you’re excited by the work we do and keen to learn, we want to hear from you. 

  • IT, Data, Cyber or STEM Degree required  

  • Graduated in 2025 or before July 2026 from a related degree, certificate or bootcamp, with less than one year’s professional IT experience (excluding internships/placements). 

  • Must have full Australian working rights (international students accepted). 

To set you up for success, you’ll ideally be: 

  • Curious and collaborative – you ask questions, listen deeply and enjoy working with people from different disciplines. 

  • Comfortable with ambiguity in a fast‑paced environment, and able to break down complex problems into clear next steps. 

  • Hungry to learn new technologies, tools and ways of working, across multiple programming languages and principles. 

  • Aligned with REA’s values, and motivated by work that has real impact for customers and communities.
