About the Role

Description

 The Quality Technician II independently performs inspection and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with customer and company standards. This role contributes to root cause investigations and supports continuous improvement initiatives.


Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections with minimal supervision
  • Interpret blueprints and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Initiate and manage non-conformance reports
  • Contribute to root cause investigations and corrective actions
  • Communicate quality concerns and required adjustments to Production Supervisors
  • Ensure measurement equipment calibration and coordinate repairs as needed
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of ISO9001 standards
  • Participate in internal audits
  • Support process improvement initiatives
  • Maintain detailed inspection documentation

Requirements

  Education and Experience: 

  • Associate degree or technical school certification; or equivalent experience
  • 2–5 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and use of precision measurement tools
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing preferred
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Physical Requirements: 

  • May be required to stand, walk, sit, reach/pull/push with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel regularly.
  • May lift or carry 50lbs. Weights exceeding 50lbs will require mechanical means to maneuver.

Work Environment:

Exposure is frequent to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles - eye protection is required, and fumes, machine vibration, and noisy conditions, high temperatures, and occasional to a restricted space work area. All Keel locations are tobacco free where appropriate.
