Description
The Direct Support Supervisor is responsible for coordination and oversight of the daily activities of the Featherstone or Whitepine Adult Social Club. Direct Support Manager provides supervision of Direct Support Professionals and provides direct support to members and residents, as needed.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Implementing and enforcing the policies and procedures of the Company.
- Applying first aid, CPR and or Tova, when necessary.
- Reviewing progress notes to ensure timely completion.
- Logging Attendance.
- Monitoring medication management and compliance.
- Supervising Direct Support Staff.
- Managing work schedules of assigned location(s).
- Fielding inquiries from Case Managers, family members, and other involved individuals, document, and escalate as appropriate.
- Directing and enforcing each program’s general schedule of supports.
- Greeting and signing in all guests.
- Opening facility doors on time.
- Purchasing all activity items and gas.
- Attending and supervises community outings.
- Reviewing and completing supervisor actions for serious incident reports and behavior intervention reports.
- Administering medication, when necessary.
- Serves as Manager on Duty for assigned week.
- Performs other related work, as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- At least one year of experience of working with individuals with intellectual and development disabilities.
- At least one year of supervisory experience preferred
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be on time to work, reliable, and dependable.
- Must be flexible and able to fill in when needed and on short notice.
- Must possess intermediate computer skills and be able to effectively use Microsoft applications.
- Preferred candidates are those who are TOVA, CPR, and medication administration certified.
- Must possess a valid Virginia Driver’s License in good standing.
- Must undergo and successfully pass a background check.
PHYSICAL CONDITIONS AND NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:
- Must be able to effectively and safely lift and transport individuals via wheelchair and able to lift, squat, bend, stoop, and crouch.
- May interact with the public, other Company employees, member/residents’ families, and caseworkers/managers.
EVALUATION:
- Performance will be evaluated on the ability and effectiveness with which the incumbent accomplishes the above responsibilities and associated performance metric indicators.
