About the Role

At OceanView at Falmouth, our beautifully maintained campus is part of what makes our community feel peaceful, welcoming, and vibrant. We’re a locally owned, 21st-century retirement community seeking a Landscaping Supervisor to lead our grounds team with skill, pride, and professionalism.

This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position (7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.), with overtime required for emergencies including snow removal. This role also participates in an on-call rotation to respond to urgent maintenance needs.

What You’ll Do

As a Landscaping Supervisor, you will lead daily operations while actively contributing to the maintenance and improvement of our grounds and facilities.

Leadership & Oversight

  • Supervise, train, and support landscaping staff to ensure high-quality workmanship and productivity.
  • Plan and assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and professionalism across the team.
  • Coordinate with other departments to support campus-wide maintenance needs.

Grounds Maintenance & Operations

  • Oversee and participate in maintaining lawns, flowerbeds, trees, and shrubs through mowing, pruning, planting, fertilizing, grading, and seasonal clean-up.
  • Lead snow removal operations, including scheduling, plowing coordination, and equipment use.
  • Ensure proper application of treatments for weeds, trees, and turf care.

Equipment & Facility Maintenance

  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of landscaping equipment (chain saws, trimmers, edgers, riding mowers, snow equipment).
  • Assist with diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing facility and grounds equipment.
  • Support installation and repair of fencing and perform light building maintenance as needed.

Planning & Quality Control

  • Monitor grounds conditions and proactively identify improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and materials; coordinate ordering as needed.
  • Ensure all work meets OceanView’s high standards for appearance and safety.

Safety & Service

  • Enforce OSHA safety standards and maintain clean, hazard-free work areas.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency or after-hours needs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents, maintaining professionalism at all times.

Requirements

 Proven experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance, with prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of landscaping practices, equipment operation, and seasonal property care including snow removal and experience plowing.

Ability to lead, motivate, and hold a team accountable.

Mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance and repair.

Strong organizational and communication skills.
