About us:
New York Preschool & Kids Club is an early childhood education and enrichment program serving modern New York families through our combination of enrichment classes and preschool education. With multiple schools across New York City, NYPKC blends a research-backed, play-based curriculum with a fun and supportive environment, delivering a full family experience for children and parents.
About the Role
The Teaching Education Director is a high-impact, hybrid leadership role designed for an experienced preschool educator who balances strong classroom instruction with location level teacher support and management. Spending part of the day leading an inclusive 2s, 3s, or 4s classroom using Creative Curriculum or Tools of the Mind, you will model pedagogical excellence while creating the building blocks for lifelong learning. The remainder of your day is dedicated to location leadership, where you will support daily operations and staffing, conduct teacher observations, and provide the formal mentorship and training necessary to onboard new hires and elevate instructional standards across your location.
What You’ll Do
- The Pedagogical Architect: Lead an inclusive 2s, 3s, or 4s classroom using Creative Curriculum or Tools of the Mind Curriculum, modeling strong, play-based instruction that serves as the gold standard for the entire location.
- The Instructional Leader: Drive school-wide excellence by conducting regular teacher observations, delivering formal feedback, and ensuring curriculum alignment and program quality.
- The Operational Captain: Step beyond the classroom to oversee daily location logistics, ensuring appropriate staffing, NYC regulatory compliance, and organizational efficiency.
- The Safety & Culture Anchor: Maintain a "safe-to-fail" environment for students while simultaneously cultivating a professional culture of accountability, emotional intelligence, and continuous improvement for the staff.
- The Strategic Family Partner: Act as a primary leadership point of contact for families, building high-level trust through transparent communication and bridging the gap between classroom milestones and what’s happening at home.
