As a Meals on Wheels Driver SUBSTITUTE you would:

  

Home Healthcare, Hospice and Community Services (HCS) is seeking a compassionate and reliable Substitute Meals on Wheels Driver to help deliver nutritious meals to homebound seniors and individuals in our community during staff absences. This role is an important part of supporting the health, dignity, and independence of the people we serve. The driver ensures meals are delivered safely, on time, and with a friendly check-in that helps reduce isolation and promotes well being.


Key Responsibilities

  • Pick up prepared meals from the designated kitchen.
  • Deliver meals to clients along an assigned route in a timely and safe manner.
  • Conduct brief wellness check-ins and report any concerns to the supervisor or care team.
  • Utilize an app on an agency issued cell phone for documentation and delivery confirmation.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures.
  • Adhere to all agency policies, safety protocols, and confidentiality requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable vehicle and proof of insurance.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Compassion for older adults and individuals with health challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and follow established routes.
