The Computer / SCADA Engineering Intern will support the Engineering team at our Fresno, CA manufacturing facility, which produces syrups and sauces. This role is designed to provide hands-on exposure to manufacturing operations, process improvement, and plant performance. The intern will work on real projects that improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support safe, high-quality production.

Administrative tasks such as filing or data entry will be limited and will not exceed approximately 30–40% of the overall experience.
Pay: $21.00 per hour
Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Location: Fresno, CA
Work Environment: In-Office
Core Responsibilities:
- Support SCADA, PLC, and data-management projects to improve visibility into plant performance and utility monitoring.
- Assist with building dashboards, historian tags, and data structures that support engineering, maintenance, and reliability analysis.
- Work with controls engineers to document I/O lists, control logic descriptions, and system interfaces used by production.
- Participate in troubleshooting efforts, root-cause reviews, and data-quality improvement initiatives.
- Help develop templates, standards, or scripts for future controls and data-engineering work
Internship Expectations
- SCADA Tag Standardization Project: Assist in mapping existing tags, cleaning naming conventions, and ensuring alignment across systems.
- Utility Data Visibility Initiative: Help create dashboards for glycol/chilled water performance, pump operation trends, and alarms.
- Historian Data Audit: Support cleanup, verification, and reliability improvements for long-term plant data retention.
- Documentation Buildout: Create user-friendly documentation for controls, networks, and data flows used by engineering and maintenance.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Interest in SCADA systems, PLCs, industrial networking, or data engineering.
- Experience with Python, databases, or visualization tools is helpful but not required.
- Strong curiosity and willingness to learn how digital systems support physical manufacturing processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Education and/or Experience
- Pursuing a B.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar.College Junior, senior, or graduate standing preferred
