The FOIA and Privacy Team Lead (Senior/Intermediate Analyst) provides leadership and subject matter expertise in support of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act operations. This role is responsible for overseeing analyst workloads, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring compliance with applicable federal laws, regulations, and agency policies. The Team Lead serves as a key point of contact between government stakeholders and the analyst team while handling sensitive, unclassified information in accordance with DHS and U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of FOIA and Privacy analysts, including workload management and task prioritization.
- Oversee FOIA and Privacy Act request processing to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on FOIA and Privacy Act requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinate with the On-Site Team Lead, Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), and government stakeholders.
- Review analyst work products for quality, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards.
- Track performance metrics, workflow status, and case volumes and provide regular status updates as required.
- Support training, mentoring, and onboarding of new analysts.
- Ensure adherence to DHS/USCG security, privacy, and rules of behavior requirements.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, or an approved equivalent experience path.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of FOIA processing and/or privacy compliance experience, or an approved equivalent experience path.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience managing analyst workloads and overseeing day-to-day operations.
Eligibility & Compliance:
- Ability to obtain and maintain DHS/USCG suitability and access to sensitive, unclassified information, including Privacy Act–protected data.
Work Environment
- Location: Washington, DC (Normally on-site; telework may be permitted only when coordinated and approved through the COR and On-Site Team Lead)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM ET (excluding Federal holidays)
