You’ll work hands-on with high-precision equipment, completing repairs that directly help customers stay efficient and effective on the jobsite—while building deeper technical expertise through structured training and daily collaboration.
What you’ll do (day-to-day impact)
In this role, you’ll repair and maintain Spectra Precision products, support customers and distribution partners, and help deliver technical training.
Core responsibilities include:
- Repair Spectra Precision products within established repair times
- Read, understand, and follow repair instructions, service guidelines, and requirements
- Maintain strong daily attendance (on-site / in-office)
- Clean and finish products to cosmetic standards that meet customer expectations
- Participate in service training (classroom + hands-on bench training)
- Document repairs, steps taken, and quality assurance checks
- Track part numbers and quantities consumed in repairs
- Support and facilitate instructor-led technical training courses
- Achieve established productivity metrics
- Maintain a < 1.5% repair return rate (because quality matters here)

Requirements
Required knowledge, skills & experience:
- 2+ years as a technician in a relevant industry (electronics, mechanical, auto, etc.)
- 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience
- High school diploma
- Experience diagnosing and repairing electromechanical devices
- Comfort with basic electrical theory and electronic test equipment
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Ability to follow written guidelines and service requirements
- Ability to work independently and stay accountable to quality standards
- Computer skills including databases/support tools and Microsoft Office
- Strong phone skills—able to explain repair steps or laser setup clearly
- Experience conducting instructor-led technical training seminars
- Salesforce.com knowledge is a plus
