About the Role

Description

The General and Accountable Manager holds ultimate responsibility for the operational and regulatory 

performance of the FAA Part 145 Repair Station. This individual is directly accountable to the Federal 

Aviation Administration for compliance, safety, and quality, while also leading the strategic growth, culture, 

and profitability of the business.

This position is ideal for a hands-on aviation MRO leader who is equally comfortable setting strategy, 

managing profit and loss, and maintaining direct involvement in day-to-day operations to ensure safe, 

compliant, and efficient execution in the repair and overhaul of fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, and 

electromechanical aircraft components

Requirements

Regulatory Compliance & Safety

  •  Serve as the FAA-designated Accountable Manager with full responsibility for CFR 14 Part 145 compliance.
  •  Maintain and execute all Repair Station Manuals associated with operations.
  •  Oversee Drug & Alcohol Awareness, Hazard Communication, and all safety-related programs.
  •  Serve as authorized signatory for Operations Specifications, FAA Rating Applications, and Repairmen Certifications.

Operational & Technical

  •  Provide hands-on leadership across maintenance, production, inspection, and support functions.
  •  Ensure facilities, tooling, equipment, and personnel are properly aligned with repair station ratings and operational requirements.
  •  Evaluate and approve the development of new repair capabilities and DER repairs.
  •  Ensure adherence to manufacturer specifications, customer requirements, and internal quality standards.

Financial & Strategic

  •  Own and manage full profit and loss responsibility.
  •  Drive sustainable growth through strategic planning, operational efficiency, and disciplined execution.
  •  Establish and monitor business KPIs, metrics, and reporting to guide real-time decision-making across departments.
  •  Implement processes and systems to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and profitability.

People, Culture & Leadership

  •  Lead all aspects of personnel management, including hiring, training (initial and recurrent), performance management, corrective actions, and workforce development.
  •  Foster a strong safety culture grounded in accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
  •  Drive a positive, values-based organizational culture that promotes trust, customer focus, and high performance.
  •  Lead by example with a balance of strategic vision and “roll-up-the-sleeves” engagement.

Experience and Skills

  •  10+ years of managerial experience in aviation MRO within a technical, quality, or engineering environment, preferably within an FAA repair station.
  •  Eligibility to work in the United States and a valid driver’s license.
  •  Preferred FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification or Repairman certification under 14 CFR Part 65 (or qualifications suitable to obtain certification).
  •  Technical experience with mechanical aircraft components; fuel systems experience is strongly preferred.
  •  Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, including 14 CFR Part 145.
  •  Strong verbal and written communication.
  •  Bilingual English and Spanish is highly desirable.
  •  Experience with Smart145, Avsight, or other ERP software is a plus.

Education

  •  Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent

Compensation

  •  Salary position commensurate with experience, bonus based on company and individual performance, medical, dental, 401k, paid sick/vacation leave
