About the Role

Job Description

The sustainability role shall support APAC Sustainability & EHS Director on regional operational sustainability plans to enhance environmental performance, resource efficiency, and compliance across operations, supporting the company’s global sustainability goals and reporting requirements. Responsible for collecting, validating, and analyzing data on energy consumption, water usage, waste generation, and emissions, and drive the implementation of energy-efficiency improvements, emissions reductions, and circular economy initiatives. Collaborate with functions such as production, procurement, maintenance, finance, and EHS to ensure sustainability governance, data accuracy, and audit readiness.

 

Strategy and Governance

  • Support regional sustainability roadmaps, annual plans, and a prioritized project list, aligned with global sustainability strategies and targets.
  • Support on establishing and maintaining regional sustainability governance framework, data standards, workflows, and document management systems.
  • Promote compliance and continual improvement of environmental/occupational health and safety management systems such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Data and Reporting

  • Maintain regional data collection, validation, and monitoring systems (key indicators such as energy, water, waste, and emissions).
  • Prepare and submit regional KPI reports, management briefings.
  • Conduct basic data analysis to identify performance gaps, trends, and improvement opportunities, and propose actionable improvement plans.

Projects and Operational Improvement

  • Lead or co-implement energy efficiency, water resource management, waste reduction, and carbon reduction projects; responsible for feasibility studies, ROI/cost-benefit analysis, budgeting, and implementation tracking.
  • Work with factory/production line teams to drive retrofits, equipment optimization, process improvements, and operator training, ensuring the sustainability and traceability of new measures.
  • Maintain project tracking, milestone management, and risk/change control.

Compliance, Audit, and Risk Management

  • Support internal audit readiness, on-site verification, and corrective action closure for ISO 14001/ISO 50001 systems, ensuring data and records integrity and accuracy.
  • Monitor changes in regulations and industry standards, assess impacts on regional operations, and drive compliant responses.

Supply Chain and External Collaboration

  • Collaborate with procurement and supplier management teams to drive environmental and social responsibility performance across the supply chain (where applicable).
  • Engage with external partners, consultants, government/industry bodies for collaboration and information exchange.

Capability Building and Communication

  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance sustainability awareness and practical competencies among production and on-site staff.
  • Be responsible for regular communication, reporting, and material preparation to internal senior management, factory management, and related functions.

This role helps ensure that all sites in the region contribute accurate and consistent sustainability information, enabling Bosch APAC to meet its global sustainability requirements and targets.

Communication: This role primarily interacts with site-level sustainability coordinators, plant facilities teams, and the APAC Senior Manager. The majority of communication is internal, aimed at ensuring timely reporting, tracking of sustainability KPIs, and supporting awareness initiatives. The role also requires selective external communication, including coordinating with suppliers and external partners as needed, to support data collection for ESG disclosures, supplier sustainability programs, and regulatory or industry liaison when applicable. Communications are conducted through formal channels (email, dashboards, meetings) and adhere to company policies on data accuracy, confidentiality, and timeliness.

The role is expected to drive innovation by researching emerging sustainability trends, conducting benchmarking, and translating data insights into innovative, scalable improvements— including evaluating new process technologies and developing incentive models to motivate location teams and accelerate adoption.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related fields.

  • Basic knowledge of sustainability concepts such as energy efficiency, circular economy, and GHG accounting.

  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 / ISO 50001 is beneficial.

  • Knowledge required is entry-level; deeper expertise resides with the Senior Manager.
