Summary/Objective
The Water Truck Driver supports daily mining operations by controlling dust and maintaining safe haul road conditions. This position is responsible for safely and reliably operating a water truck to mitigate dust, water haul roads, and support overall site safety and environmental compliance. The Water Truck Driver will also perform routine equipment inspections and monitor vehicle maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Essential Functions

· Operate a water truck to apply water for dust suppression across haul roads, stockpiles, and other designated mine areas.

· Maintain safe and effective watering of haul roads to reduce dust and improve visibility for mine equipment operators.

· Monitor water levels and ensure proper distribution while operating the truck.

· Conduct daily pre-shift and post-shift inspections of the vehicle and associated equipment.

· Identify and report maintenance issues, mechanical concerns, or safety hazards to supervisors.

· Maintain accurate inspection and equipment records as required by company policy.

· Follow all company safety procedures, MSHA regulations, and environmental requirements.

· Coordinate with mine operations to ensure dust control efforts support production activities.

· Maintain clean and organized equipment and work areas.

· Assist with other operational tasks as needed to support safe and efficient mining operations.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  1. Minimum one      (1) year of experience operating water trucks, heavy equipment, or similar      vehicles in construction, mining, or industrial environments.
  2. Valid driver’s      license required.
  3. Ability to      safely operate heavy equipment in a mining environment.
  4. Basic      understanding of equipment inspections and preventative maintenance      practices.
  5. Strong      attention to safety and situational awareness.
  6. Ability to      communicate effectively with supervisors and equipment operators.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Commercial      Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.

2. MSHA Certification(s)

Work Environment

This position operates primarily in an outdoor mining environment and may involve exposure to dust, noise, moving equipment, and changing weather conditions. The Water Truck Driver must follow all site safety requirements and maintain constant awareness of surrounding equipment and personnel.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

· Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment.

· Ability to climb ladders and steps to access equipment.

· Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and dust.

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Monday through Friday, 5am to 1pm, or 1pm to 9pm. This position will occasionally require work during weekends and holidays.
