About the Role

Fearrington Village is an English-inspired property nestled in the idyllic countryside of North Carolina. Our southern hospitality is part of everything we do as we aim to make each of our guests feel welcome. 

Located 15 minutes from Chapel Hill, our property is one of the original Relais & Chateaux destinations in North America since 1980, complete with an award-winning fine-dining restaurant, luxury 32-room inn, spa, boutique shops, a beer and pizza garden, events spaces, and one of the state’s last remaining independent bookstores.

Job Description

The Fearrington House Restaurant is a Relais & Châteaux property known for refined hospitality, seasonal cuisine, and an exceptional dining experience in a beautiful countryside setting just outside Chapel Hill. Our team is dedicated to delivering thoughtful, seamless service at every touchpoint.

Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Food Runner / Backwait to support our front-of-house team during evening service. This role is essential to maintaining the flow of service and ensuring each guest experience is executed with precision and care.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow in hospitality and gain experience in a fine dining environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver food from the kitchen to guests promptly and accurately

  • Assist servers with table maintenance, including clearing, resetting, and water service

  • Support seamless communication between kitchen and front-of-house teams

  • Ensure dining areas remain clean, organized, and service-ready at all times

  • Assist with polishing, stocking, and preparing service stations

  • Anticipate team and guest needs to support an elevated dining experience

Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred, but not required

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • Attention to detail and a team-oriented mindset

  • Professional, positive attitude

  • Must be available Thursday through Sunday evenings
