• This position supports the protection of UPS facilities and equipment. With the individual’s technical knowledge and analytical skills, he/she assists with providing safe and reliable material, handling equipment and facilities and ensuring environmental compliance. The Buildings and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Specialist will be performing the following tasks:
  • Assist the Supervisor with project management tasks related to the installation of conveyor equipment and facility construction, supervise contractors, holding them accountable to fulfill the scope of the contract
  • Maintenance of conveyor equipment and buildings
  • Assist the Supervisor with Facility Safety and Environmental Programs compliance
  • Assist the Supervisor with Facility Housekeeping Tasks.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering/electrical engineering/civil engineering/construction management or similar relevant discipline
• Excellent communication skills. Proficient in both spoken and written English
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, etc.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD
• 1 year experience minimum, 3 years preferred in conveyor system installations OR maintenance management.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, warehouse setting
• Results and detail oriented
• Sense of urgency
• Flexibility to accommodate changing shift time
• Capable of lifting up to 32kg unassisted
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and elementary diagrams is an asset
• Knowledge of PLC’s and electrical controls is an asset
• Experience with IBM Maximo, Coupa is an asset
• Articulating-boom lift, scissor lift, and forklift experience is an asset
