The Leasing Specialist will be responsible for championing great first impressions by greeting prospective residents and conducting tours, while also driving occupancy through marketing available units and managing leasing applications and renewals. They must ensure community compliance by accurately processing applications and recertifications under affordable housing programs and delivering exceptional service to residents.

Leasing Specialist – Affordable Housing | Frederick, MD


Salary: $19 - $21 per hour | Full Time | Monday–Friday | 8:30am - 5:30pm | Occasional Evenings / Saturdays

What You Bring as a Leasing Specialist


You bring warmth, attention to detail, and professionalism to every interaction:


· 2+ years of apartment leasing experience preferred.

· Experience with affordable housing programs (LIHTC, HUD-Section 8, HOME, RD) strongly preferred.

· Familiarity with Fair Housing and compliance requirements.

· Proficiency in Yardi or similar property management software.

· Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

· Basic math and data-entry abilities for rent collection and recordkeeping.

· Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plus.

· High school diploma or GED required; COS or TCS certification desired or willingness to obtain.

· Ensure compliance – process applications and recertifications accurately under LIHTC, HUD, or other affordable housing programs.

· Deliver exceptional service – assist residents with rent collection, service requests, and community communications.

· Support teamwork – collaborate with maintenance and office staff to maintain high standards for property appearance and safety.

· Stay organized – manage reports, filing, and data entry to keep operations running smoothly.
