As a Merchant Onboarding Manager, you will lead Wolt’s end-to-end onboarding organization across verticals, overseeing three teams (20–25 employees) and managing managers across multiple operational domains. You will combine multi-team leadership with hands-on technical ownership, acting as the primary operational counterpart to Product and ensuring that onboarding systems, tools, and workflows scale seamlessly with the business.

This is a high-impact role at the core of Wolt’s merchant operations, directly influencing speed, quality, and scalability across Restaurants and diverse Retail verticals.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead a multi-layer organization of 3 teams (20–25 employees), including managing managers and strengthening leadership capabilities across teams.
  • Own end-to-end onboarding operations across Restaurants and Retail verticals, including menu builds, venue setup, system configurations, and related operational workflows. This includes overseeing teams responsible for building and configuring merchant venues and menus directly within Wolt’s internal systems, as well as managing ongoing operational updates for existing merchants. The teams operate in a back-office capacity, focusing on system configuration and menu management rather than direct communication with merchants.
  • Serve as the main operational counterpart to Product for all onboarding-related systems - identifying bugs, defining operational requirements, influencing prioritization, and ensuring effective implementation.
  • Maintain deep hands-on expertise in onboarding systems, with the ability to step in, build, troubleshoot, and provide technical escalation support when needed.
  • Identify operational and technological bottlenecks and drive scalable process improvements.
  • Define and monitor KPIs, performance metrics, and quality standards across teams.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that require alignment beyond direct reporting lines.
  • Ensure strong collaboration and communication with global stakeholders, operating confidently in English.

Our humble expectations

  • Proven people management experience leading a team of at least 10 employees (mandatory).
  • Proven experience in account onboarding or account operations roles within a high-volume, process-driven environment.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership experience, particularly in close partnership with Product and global stakeholders.
  • High technical orientation with the ability to deeply understand systems, troubleshoot operational challenges, and translate business needs into product requirements.
  • Hands-on mindset with the confidence to independently resolve system and process issues.
  • Demonstrated experience building, optimizing, and scaling operational processes in fast-growing environments.
  • Strong prioritization skills and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, high-growth setting.
  • Fluent English (written and verbal).
