About the Role


Savory Supervisor


The Savory Supervisor will be a leader for the team in our savory kitchen, working to ensure proper execution of all Savory items, from prep to final product. The Supervisor must be able to communicate clearly with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef Team to keep kitchen operations running smoothly.  This position requires strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The main objective is to support the hourly team members to execute job responsibilities throughout the shift and additionally, the individual may be responsible for the completion of tasks related to (and to support) management.  


Job Design:


The Supervisor will be assigned to a primary location, but may be asked to work at alternate locations if the need should arise.  The goal of this position is to familiarize the individual with management practices and procedures to best prepare them to move into a salaried management position in the future. 


The Supervisor is expected to maintain a full-time (35+ hour) work schedule and will be scheduled to work in this position part-time for 3-4 shifts per week, while the remaining 1-2 shifts may be worked in any other BOH department in which the individual is trained.  In the event of extended management needs, this position may increase to full time solely in the Supervisor position.



Job Responsibilities:


  • Ability to supervise and maintain an efficient and effective culinary team including partnering with new hires to observe their progress and correct course as necessary. 

  • Provide conflict resolution in a positive, effective manner and by The Cake Bake Shop handbook standards.

  • Understands the training program aligned with their specific department and the stations within the department.  

  • Complete understanding of The Cake Bake Shop standards, especially as it pertains to consistency in product, portioning, cooking and plating.

  • Ability to set guidelines and priorities and delegate to team members as necessary.

  • Abides by and enforces all policies and procedures as described in The Cake Bake Shop handbook.

  • Ability to submit product orders for suppliers as necessary and assists with weekly/monthly inventory practices in partnership with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef Team.

  • Responsible for Opening, Mid and Closing duties with guidance from the Executive Chef and Sous Chef Team.

  • Well versed with local health and safety policies and is able to uphold these policies throughout each shift, both personally and with the team members.

  • Creates a culture of commitment vs compliance with team members.

  • Partners with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef Team to fulfill daily par levels, communicating needs between the locations and utilizing inventory software accordingly.  

  • Coordinates with the Warehouse and Delivery Team, along with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef Team as necessary.   


Job Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Prior experience in a leadership role

  • Current full-time employee of The Cake Bake Shop and is in good standing

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills combined with outstanding leadership, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills 

  • Must be able to work 35+ hours per week and have open availability on Weekdays, Week Nights, Weekends and Holidays

  • Must be physically able to stand, bend or stoop and lift up to 50 pounds

  • Must be Servsafe certified

  • Must be proficient in Food Safety and provide ServSafe Certification
